It’s been a while since we chatted about the hottest PCs on the market and I know you all miss it. So, this week, we are just talking about the different PCs, their different shapes and their variety of features. At CES, all kinds of beautiful PCs were shown off and we took a look at a few in this video here and part 2 here. These are just a few examples of awesome Windows PCs available today. Plus, we’ll also be giving away an ASUS Zenbook UX21. It’s a sleek, sophisticated PC with loads of battery life and one … [Read More...]
Two days ago, Google started mixing Google+ connections with general search results. Pics, photos, shared links, posts, authored articles – if someone in your Circles shared something related to what you’re looking for, it shows up in your search results. Google calls it “Search Plus Your World;” I call it annoying. When the first page of results is dominated by “Personal Results,” that’s a problem. And to make it worse, Google doesn’t exactly make it easy to turn the “feature” off for good.
The “Hide Personal Results” button on the search page is a temporary solution but the problem rears … [Read More...]
Google Plus’ big killer feature from the start has been that it lets users organize their friends and acquaintances into Circles to control what is shared, and with whom. But creating all these curated groups seemed a little like a half baked feature seeing as you couldn’t let anyone else in on that perfectly organized group. Well, now you can. Google is rolling out the ability to share circles on Google+.
To share a Circle, just click on the Circle in question and choose Share. This will pull up the familiar composition field where you can choose who to share … [Read More...]
Why go for the gold when platinum is within reach? That’s the question Enermax asked itself when designing its new Platimax power supply series, which brings the 80 Plus Platinum certification bling, the highest 80 Plus certification available in the U.S. What that stamp means is that the Platimax line has been certified at least 95 percent efficient at 50 percent typical load and no less than 91 percent efficient when fully loaded.
The Platimax line is available in 600W, 750W, 850W, 1000W, and 1200W models, making it suitable for modest systems on up to heavy-duty dream machines and industrial … [Read More...]
Any fears we had that the OCZ Vertex 3’s speeds were due solely to some voodoo magic or secret deal with SandForce were unfounded. OWC’s Mercury Extreme Pro 6G—a product name that contains three too many buzzwords—goes toe to toe with the Vertex 3 in nearly every benchmark, and exceeds it in some.
Like the Vertex 3, the Mercury Extreme Pro 6G (and why not tack on “Enhanced Premium Plus” while you’re at it, OWC?) utilizes 256GB of synchronous, 25nm NAND (Micron, in our review unit). As with other SandForce drives, 16GB are reserved for redundancy and overprovisioning; the rated … [Read More...]
Well that was fast. Early BlackBerry PlayBook adopters were elated to find out that they could access Hulu’s streaming service on their brand new Flash-enabled tablets, but not surprisingly, the celebrations were short lived. Hulu was quick to play the part of party pooper and added the PlayBook’s browser to its blacklist, and now when they try to access TV shows on Hulu’s website, they’re greeted with an error message instead.
“We notice that you are trying to access Hulu from your BlackBerry browser,” the message says. “Right now, this device is not supported.”
Do’h! Hulu’s message only tells part … [Read More...]

PROS: Quick installation and great features added with ease. One of the best features for me is the option to continue where you left off in a song when you close and re open WMP12.
CONS: No cons really. It would be nice to see more features that could bump this up to a five-star program. If you can think of any features, let us know in the comments so we |

Built Fortress tough, with a Silverstone price tag
Going on name alone, one would expect the Silverstone Fortress FT02 to be an updated version of our Best of the Best mid-tower case, last year’s Fortress FT01. And while it shares a few of the FT01’s traits (like a unibody aluminum frame, acoustic padding, and some stylistic cues like black metal mesh), the vast majority of its DNA comes from the Raven RV02. In fact, it’s the homo sapiens to the RV02’s chimpanzee.
The rotated motherboard placement and right-panel window mean the Fortress FT02, like the Raven RV02, looks strange at … [Read More...]

The holiday season is in full effect and Christmas is right around the corner. If you haven’t gotten a gift yet, you already know that you are in a bad position. That Barnes & Noble Nook eBook reader sold out last month and the arrival date for one is February 1st! Most vacation packages aren’t nearly as discounted as they were a few months ago and gift cards have gotten a bad reputation as being insincere. Time is running out to top off all that bad news, as this past weekend was the last shopping … [Read More...]
