Great performance

Review Date: March 18, 2010
Reviewer: David Ulmer,
First note I'm a long time Nvidia user, so I was concerned about this card. Replaced my 8500GT 512 MB with this one. The 4670 was easy to install, has less power consumption, doesn't overheat, and superb performance.
I have noticed significant improvement in all my games. Were I was playing Fallout 3 at maximum of 1280x1024 on high settings with some lag, now I'm playing at 1440x900 in ulta high settings and no lag.
2 downsides for me was the audio built into the video card since it disable my onboard sound and I have no hookups for this type of audio. Disabled it and all was well.
Second was I was used to my screen auto adjusting to various resolutions in games. This one doesn't do that like my 8500GT did, so I found had to set resolution to a specific one to account for my widescreen, no big deal just annoying if you're not used to it lol.
Yes, this works with Sims 3

Reviewer: invisiblgirl,
Forget all these silly shooter games - does the card work with the latest game in the most popular franchise in history? Yes. It passes EA's 'EasyInfo' assessment easily for Sims 3.

I'd been able to play Sims 3 with all the graphics options set to 'low' with my on-board graphics, but my display adapter crashed if my Sims used the tv, computer or dollhouse. No problems with this card with the game set to med-high graphics options. (I'm still getting over the textures, which are so much more defined at the high end.)

My main concern about buying a new card was compatibility - I knew I had a PCIe slot, but I wasn't sure if the power supply was adequate. I've got a fairly common computer - HP Pavilion desktop (model a1720n, 2 years old, Vista 32-bit, Intel Core 2 Duo 1.86 GHz, 3 GB RAM) - and the power supply seems to be adequate, if it helps anyone with a similar set-up. Installation was no trouble at all (the a1720n and probably any newer Pavilion will automatically switch from the on-board graphics to the new card, so no mucking about in the bios was needed).

In Vista, you may get a pop-up telling you that Windows is having issues right about the time the driver software tells you to reboot to complete the installation. Ignore the pop-up and reboot - Windows is having issues because the installation isn't complete.

There is a new version of the driver for Vista/Win 7 at ATI's website - I installed from the CD and then went to the site via the ATI software's link, but you might save yourself a bit of time downloading the Catalyst Control Center suite before you install the card.

I upgraded my system (new MB, CPU, memory, video) when the old MB totally died (capacitors blew up like popcorn).
Stepped to the newer technology and this card does all that I need and does so very well. For the money I think as good as I could have expected. Runs quiet and cool, and surprise, does NOT need an extra power connection so it must be very energy efficient. Plays my selection of games at high settings without a hitch. For the money you get a pretty good card with lots of fast DDR3 memory.
Great card for the money

I bought this video card to replace an EVGA GeForce 7600 GT that was failing even though it had a lifetime warranty. EVGA's warranty policy unfortunately was less than accommodating as I would either be left without a computer for 2+ weeks or pay an additional $30 for an advanced RMA. This Sapphire (ATI) card is a noticeable upgrade over the Nvidia card in every way. I don't play games but just the display with normal use, both text and graphics is superior. I downloaded the latest graphics direct from ATI online and installed them first on my Vista system without any problems whatsoever. The same was true with my XP system. The Windows 7 system simply found and installed the necessary drivers via Automatic Update. (My PC is a tri-boot machine)

Bottom line... I am totally satisfied with everything about this card. And, from the dozens of reviews I've read from others, it seems to be more than adequate to play most games as well.

Definitely a recommended product and Amazon.com as a seller.
Low Price and Requirements. High Preformance.

Plug and Play in a system without a lot of juice to power it and runs everything but the most premium visual content.

amazon is amazing, I ordered at 12pm, my order shipped at 2.30pm same day! and arrived next day 12pm. granted i live about 40 miles from the warehouse in LA. still the product arrived in excellent condtion, and is a very good value card.
my windows experience index for graphics is now 6.7 (from 4.2), am running a quad core athlon 630 with 4gb ddr3 ram and asus 785g chipset mobo. windows 7 64bit. another plus is that with the card, my memory index score also improved to 7.3 (from 5.9). will be trying it out on crysis later.

card is QUIET and cool, and short (fits in my MICRO ATX case).

cons: teh fan blocks access to one of my PCI slots ( i have two slots below the PCI-E x16 slot).
Fast Shippping, excelent videocard,

On the product side, I was looking for a good video card, that was stable and not a swallower of energy I am totally pleased with this video card. Saphire knew how to do it, the cooling system is excellent HDMI PCI-Express 2.0 ... everything is perfect.
Move over Nvidia for ATI

Reviewer: J. White, New York
POSITIVE:
I like many, have been an avid Nvidia user, and was very skeptical when purchasing this card, due to previous versions before ATI was taken over by AMD. Furthermore, I was looking for a card that offered balance between average use, and heavy gaming graphics, but for a reasonable price.

In addition, I was also concerned about the fan noise, which with my previous Nvidia Geforce 9800, it was so loud at times i was ready to use just about anything other than, and ran at about 60-65 Degrees Celsius, possibly because it was old and ready to die out. Therefore, I needed a card fast.
By comparison, Sapphire Radeon Cards fan suprisingly runs extremely quiet. Also, I noticed a significant difference immediately with quality graphics in games, most of which I play are heavy graphic based. I havent benchmarked the item as of yet, although, through Windows 7 Performance Ratings it went from 3.7 to 5.2 with this card. Drivers are easily downloaded, overclocking is an option like most, and it runs at a cool consistant 45-50 degrees Celsius. Also, it is Crossfire ready if desired.

NEGATIVE:
The only downfall that I must mention is the size of the fan taking up two ports. Therefore, anyone wanting to purchase this card must keep that in mind. Also, it comes with a DVI output as opposed to S-Video which I will need to purchase the correct adapter, running from DVI to S-Video in the back of my TV. Not a problem, just an inconvenience temporarily.

CONCLUSION:
Final conclusion: Excellent card for the price, good for gaming, runs cool, and an awesome alternative for those who wish to break away from Nvidia, especially knowing that AMD is behind the product, you most definitely will not be dissapointed. However, if so, you would be one of a very select few. You won't find a better card for the price.
Radeon HD4670

Review Date: September 5, 2010
Reviewer: fasteddie,
Highly recommend this video card. It replaced a 9600 OC. The 9600 crashed frequently on reduced settings & was noisy. The HD4670 performs flawlessly on max settings & is extremely quiet.
Don't Buy From Amazon

Reviewer: S. Cooper,
I was going to buy this here because it was the lowest price I could find. Mysteriously, by the time I got my paycheck it had seen three price raises.

EDIT: Since everyone is such a whiny baby who can't possibly read any other review (Of which there are plenty) I will elaborate on the product.

It's excellent. The Radeon HD 4670 is the best budget card I've purchased in years.

Capabilities:

The HD4670 has no problem playing just about any game, new or old. Newer games usually can't be played at max settings but they still look excellent. Anything made before 2007 will almost definitely be playable on max settings at 1024x1280 or 1600x900. I have experienced minimal lag while using this for video/3D editing software and the fan is very quiet ON THE BIOSTAR MODEL. The Sapphire has a different fan that is probably better but I've heard it's noisier.

Compatibility:

Photoshop CS4: Gpu options work fine when you download the "Enable old GPU's" fix from Adobe.
Photoshop CS5: Full support without changing anything, all OpenGL features work fine.
Autodesk Maya: Full support with latest driver from ATI. Hardware Render and High Quality Render work fine.
After Effects CS4: GPU rendering works just fine with few, if any, crashes or errors.
Windows Media Player: Video playback looks excellent.

Those are the only programs I've tested it with.

Gaming:

Full Settings: SPORE, Fable, Dues Ex
High Settings: Mass Effect 2 (Full settings if you lower resolution)
Medium Settings: Fallout 3 (Glitchy game, random crashes on high resolution)

Gaming performance will depend on your computer. Games were tested on a PC with a 2.33 GHz Core 2 duo and 6GB of RAM on Windows 7. Most newer computers should be even better.
GREAT VIDEO CARD!

Reviewer: Nenaptio,
this would've been 4 and a half but i cant rate it like that :/ its an overall great budget card. I can play any games i throw at it with the exception of crysis of course. It is also very quite even though it has such a large fan, but the only thing that was ba about this card was the fact that overclocking it did not seem to work, and would crash the system after about 5 minutes of being overclocked... All in all, it is an overall great card and i would recommend it to anyone looking for a budget card that packs a punch.
